Writing Prompt 2 - Paper Cut

Kaitlyn yowled sharply with sudden pain and leapt up from her nest of books, notepads, pens and paper, she held her hand up above her shoulder and ran through the house in search of medical aid.
"What's up?"
She frowned and tried to push past Dean, trying to find her sister.
"Jaelyn's at the shop, what's the matter?"
She whimpered, pain won out over her annoyance and she held out her hand.
A small but neat cut was beginning to well up with blood on the very tip of her index finger. Dean laughed, then caught himself, and gently lead the girl to the kitchen.
She sat on the counter with her tail wrapped around her knees while Dean found the first aid kit.
He glanced at her and only when she was hurt did he realise how she was so young, and so taken from the life she should have had. She was so vulnerable.
He found the plasters and disinfectant.
She winced when the liquid met the cut, and small tears rolled down her cheeks, but once the wound was covered, she calmed.
"There." Dean said kindly.
"Thanks."
She made to drop from the counter, but Dean's hand on hers stopped her.
"I'm not finished yet."
She frowned and averted her eyes, the look in his eye made her feel uncomfortable.
"What -"
Before she could ask he lifted her finger to his lips and pressed a soft kiss to the plaster.
She blushed, dropped from the counter and pushed past him.  
He did love the vulnerable ones.
